Chasity Stratton has been an attorney for over fifteen years. She graduated Valedictorian from Grace Christian School in West Columbia, SC, then attended the University of South Carolina, where she graduated with honors, with a B.A. degree in Political Science. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Chasity was active in several South Carolina political campaigns, the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and the Shandon Baptist Church College Leadership Team. She completed her education at the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate.
In 2010, Chasity married Nic Stratton. In July of 2013, their daughter, Annabelle, was born. Both Chasity and her husband volunteer in various areas of the community, especially in arts and theater programs. Chasity is a member of the Lexington Bar Association and the South Carolina Bar Association. Her practice is focused on Probate Administration, Guardianship and Conservatorship proceedings, Estate Planning, Public Benefits Planning, Elder Law, and Special Needs Planning
Chasity always aspired to be an attorney, reasoning that her natural ability to argue and love of talking would be assets. During law school Chasity had the opportunity to work at a large product liability firm. Unexpectedly, she learned that she hated this area of the law and started her second year of law school determined to find a better fit. After taking estate planning classes and clerking for one of the faculty at USC School of Law, she quickly fell in love with this area of the law. After law School Chasity and T.C., who had been friends since their undergrad days, each got jobs at other firms. About a year in, they realized that they were not happy and took the leap and started their own firm.
The best thing about estate planning and related areas has turned out to be the relationships that have developed over the years. Over fourteen years into owning a firm, Chasity loves connecting to people and helping them sift through the details of their estate. Thoughtful planning can help them avoid conflict in situations where a cookie cutter estate plan just would not work. Chasity loves getting to know these clients and often continuing the relationship with their family members.
Chasity has a special interest in developing plans for those who have a special needs family member. It can take sensitive pre-planning to be sure these family members are adequately provided for.
One of the most rewarding things has been the growth of Stratton and Reynolds. Chasity and T.C. always had the vision to grow their firm to have a presence throughout South Carolina. They presently have offices in Lexington, Aiken, Bluffton, and Columbia. Each of these offices has an attorney and staff who live in those areas and understand those communities. Chasity is especially proud of the fact that the firm has grown through referrals from clients and other business connections because this speaks to the positive relationships that have developed over the years.
